Description

This natural handmade Star Anise Sweet Orange Soap Bar is ‘scrap’!  Literally!  Handmade using the shavings from any or all of our other bars of soap.  Hence the name ‘Confetti Bar’.  We make up a new soap batter and then add the shavings to ensure ‘zerowaste‘ from our soapmaking process.

We use our basic soap batter comprising coconut, palm (sustainable) and olive oils and added French pink clay.

Star anise is native to China and comes from a small evergreen tree (a member of the magnolia family).  It’s flavor is slightly more bitter than that of regular anise seed.  Known scientifically as Illicium verum, Star Anise is harvested while still green and unripe, dried in the sun where it develops its reddy brown color.  The sweet warm star anise flavor  is reminiscent of licorice, clove, fennel seed and aniseed (botanically unrelated to any of these spices).  When blended with sweet orange essential oil you get the beautiful sweet aroma in this natural handmade soap.

Sweet Orange has a balancing effect on the mind and body with its warming and heart lifting qualities.  Its broad aromatic appeal make it perfect for blending with other essential oils and adds beautifully to the Star Anise.

The all natural handmade Star Anise Sweet Orange Soap Bar is packaged in a recycled wraparound label.  Each soap weighs at least 100g when packed.

Please keep your natural handmade soap well drained between use. A soap dish with good drainage will help give your soap a longer life.
