Sandalwood Soap, scented with Amyris balsamifera, lemongrass, cedarwood and vetiver essential oils and added sandalwood powder for mild exfoliation.

The wood and resin of Amyris balsamifera have a sweet, warm, and woody aroma with hints of vanilla and balsamic notes.  This aroma is similar to that of true sandalwood (Santalum album), leading to the common name “West Indian Sandalwood.”  Amyris oil is well know for its calming properties. Aromatherapists have often been known to use Amyris oil for the treatment of stress and sleeplessness making this soap particularly good to use before sleep.  It is also said to have a positive effect on the mind and helps in bringing about a general feeling of well-being.

Essential Oils

Combining cedarwood, West Indian Sandalwood, lemongrass, and vetiver in soap creates a unique refreshing aroma with earthy, citrusy, and herbal notes.

Cedarwood adds a warm, woody aroma with grounding and calming properties. It provides a solid base note that anchors the scent of the soap and promotes a sense of stability and tranquility.

Sandalwood contributes a creamy, sweet, and exotic aroma with subtle floral undertones. It adds depth and richness to the soap’s fragrance while imparting a sense of luxury and relaxation.

Lemongrass offers a bright, citrusy, and refreshing scent with energizing and uplifting properties. It adds a zesty twist to the soap’s aroma, creating a vibrant and invigorating bathing experience.

Vetiver provides a deep, earthy, smoky aroma with grounding and stabilizing effects. It complements the other oils by adding complexity and depth to the scent profile, while promoting a sense of balance and calm.

The sandalwood powder added for mild exfoliation used comes from the Santalum spicatum, a native tree of Western Australia.  It acts as a gentle exfoliant and helps to anchor the sandalwood scent.

Due to the handmade nature of our Sandalwood Soap no two will ever be the same.  Each soap will weigh at least 100g, often more.

Nourish Naturally handmade soaps are all made in small batches using the cold process method.   Cold process soapmaking creates a mild soap which retains the natural glycerin whcih is generally removed during commercial soapmaking. Glycerin is a humectant (attracts moisture to the skin). It’s this natural glycerin in our handmade soaps that help to keep your skin soft and pampered.
