This natural Sandalwood Soap is swirled with sandalwood powder and scented with essential oil of the Amyris balsamifera. Local Point Lookout honey and beeswax have also been added to this luxurious exfoilating soap. With a refreshing aroma that helps melt away the stress this natural Sandalwood Soap is particularly good before sleep. Amyris oil is known to be calming and an aid to stress relief. Aromatherapists have often been known to use Amyris oil for the treatment of stress and sleeplessness. It is also said to have a positive effect on the mind and helps in bringing about a general feeling of well-being.
The sandalwood powder used comes from the Santalum spicatum, a native tree of Western Australia. It acts as a gentle exfoliant. Due to the high cost of pure Australian sandalwood oil, nearly $500 for 100mls when I last checked with a supplier, it is not practical for use in soap. Amyris oil has a characteristic woody, sweet heartscent. This blend of sandalwood powder and Amyris Essential Oil smells sweet and warm with a woody, cedar-like character.
Why Use Honey and Beeswax?
Aside from wanting to use my own produce, honey and beeswax have some wonderful properties. The use of honey helps to moisture and increases lather. Beeswax hardens the soap and a small amount can add firmness and a silky texture to your bars.
Due to the handmade nature of our Sandalwood Soap no two will every be the same. Each soap will weigh at least 100g, often more.
Nourish Naturally handmade soaps are all made in small batches using the cold process method. The cold process method of soapmaking creates a mild soap that retains the natural glycerin, a product which is generally removed during commercial soapmaking. Glycerin is a humectant (attracts moisture to the skin). It’s this natural glycerin in our handmade soaps that help to keep your skin soft and pampered.
